St. Paul's 2016 Retreat at Camp Coniston in Croydon, NH
On Saturday, September 17th from 9:00 to 4:00
*Carpoolers will gather at St. Paul's Saturday morning around 8:00 AM. *Meet at St. Paul's parking lot. We will depart for Camp Coniston at 8:15. You can choose to drive or leave your car in the parking lot for the day. Some people are driving there directly. Car poolers will return to St. Paul’s following the closing Eucharist. Directions from St. Paul’s*. For GPS the name is Camp Coniston-YMCA at 24 Main Camp Road, Croydon, NH:* 22 miles, 28 minutes from St. Paul’s. Take I-89 South to Exit 13, Grantham/Eastman. Turn right off the exit ramp, onto Route #10 for 0.6 miles (pass a gas station, Dunkin Donuts and the Grantham Fire Station). Take first left (after Dunbar Hill Rd. on right): Rt. 114 (see small Coniston Sign and Retreat Sign). First right (1.1 miles) onto Stoney Brook Rd. (small Coniston sign and Retreat Sign). 2 miles to Coniston Rd. on right (steeply down). Main Camp Road is the second left. Parking is by the office and out along the entrance road.
*Food: *Coffee and coffee cakes are provided before 9 in the morning. Lunch sandwich makings (cold cuts, cheese and breads) and drinks are provided.* Please bring a salad or cookies for lunch, or snack foods for breaks. *
No donation is necessary. The camp and food are within our budget.
*Agenda: *We will start at 9. Plan to arrive earlier for coffee and settle in. In the morning there will be a story to reflect on, then exercises in tools for spiritual bridge building, then exploration of bridging to other people. There will be a 2 hour break around lunch. There will be a lifeguard and if it is warm enough swimming. Lawn games. Relaxing. There is a trail along the lake. If it rains there is plenty of indoor space for games. In the afternoon we will play some more with attunement. Closing worship will begin at 3 and end at 4.
Youth: Young people will participate with everyone. They will not be separate.
Some possible things to bring for yourself or to share:
A favorite snack or baked goods to share.
Two stones that feel comfortable in your hands and are large enough to click together for an attunement exercise.
Outdoor or indoor games and/or musical instruments for free choice time.
Comfort items (pillow, blanket) or free time materials (camera, knitting, book).
A pen or a device, markers, and journal, if you prefer. Paper is provided.
Casual, comfortable clothing. Watch the weather for appropriate outdoor wear.
*FYI: Camp Coniston is NOT heated. *
